DO

give yourself grace. It's very common to be nervous and it's pretty likely that something will go wrong, but that's all OK! In the end, you are marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. 

DON’T

try to please everyone. Make sure you and your fiancé(e) spend time talking about the things that are most important to you for that day. Tip: Each of you write down what are your top three parts of your wedding (For example, music, photography, food). Then come together to determine the top three overall. This can help you when determining where to budget money.

DO

make sure all your vendors have the same timeline. This keeps everyone informed and organized. This also keeps vendors and others from having to ask you lots of questions. Be sure to over-communicate. 

DON’T

fall in love with weddings you see on Pinterest. Pinterest is an incredible place for inspiration (and I love Pinterest) but a lot of things you find end up costing way over your budget.

DO

go out for a date with your significant other at least once a week and do not talk about wedding stuff. It's important to not forget to nurture your relationship so it can continue to grow strong.

DON’T

forget to drink lots of water. You are very busy, and staying hydrated is important. It's easy to forget, so don’t be afraid to ask someone to keep offering you a drink of water or set a few reminders on your phone. Tip: always have a dry towel with the water so condensation does not drip onto your dress/tux and leave water spots.

DO

take a minimum of 20 minutes after the ceremony to be with your brand-new spouse, just the two of you, to breathe and relax. The rest of the day and night will be full of activity.

DON’T

handle all the details yourself! Let someone else handle the details of the day so you can truly enjoy every part. The day flies by faster than you can imagine so soak in every moment possible!
