Estrella Mercado Panther – the creative voice behind local open mic staple Nova Garden – was joined by alt-rock cover band Left is Law for a live show on Sept. 12 at The Venue (209 Graham Ave., Eau Claire).

The night kicked off with a first-time stage debut by Left is Law, who delivered a set packed with 1990s hits including early songs from Green Day's discography – with a healthy dose of Third Eye Blind to finish.

Next up, Nova Garden took the stage, weaving through what seemed to be their complete discography. This event, which also acted as a celebration for Nova Garden's latest release – "The Diary" – gave attendees a taste of Estrella's theatrical, magnetic stage presence.

To mirror the fairy-like essence of Estrella's overall aesthetic, she personally curated The Venue's stage design – complete with whimsical stuffed animals and glowing fairy lights.
