“F**king awesome would not do it justice!” Wait, fans of The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight said what? Believe it or not, that’s been the consensus as its tour continues across the country and most recently, in Eau Claire on Sept. 3.
Enveloped by a stage design of dim flickering lights, an ensemble of 14 classical musicians brought new renditions of timeless rock anthems to the Pablo Center at the Confluence (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire) in collaboration with Candlelight Concerts.
The Rock Orchestra is one of many genres featured in the growing trend of Candlelight shows nationwide. This past week, a combination of instrumentalists and vocalists brought locals a “spellbinding spectacle” of metal anthems infused with concert-style arrangements.
From Metallica and AC/DC to My Chemical Romance, Evanescence and The Cranberries, the latest iteration of Candlelight Concerts delivered “hauntingly beautiful energy,” organizers shared.
