Preceded by an honorary ceremony on May 23, the Eau Claire Patriotic Council (ECPC) hosted the Memorial Day Parade – which garnered a couple hundred spectators and participants – the morning of Saturday, May 25.

This year's parade, with its theme "From 1776 to Today: Remembering the Brave," began in Wilson Park before crossing the Lake Street bridge, ending just past Owen Park in downtown Eau Claire.

The preceding ceremony, hosted by the ECPC in partnership with American Legion Post 53 and VFW Post 7232, "reinforces the importance of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice," Post Commander James Hauck told News 13. It included a 21-gun salute, wreath adornment and a short speech and prayer.
