Once More, Autumn and Sleeping Trees – two musical projects with Eau Claire and Indiana roots, respectively – dropped in for a one night performance on April 11 at Abraxas Wax (320 Graham Ave., Suite 102) in downtown Eau Claire.

Songwriter Tom Pieciak – paired with his ensemble including Trevor Webb, Brendan Keller-Tuberg Chuck Roldan and others – welcomed listeners into the setlist for Sleeping Trees, with tracks from their discography which appear to be "unafraid to show its roots while also bending skyward in search of newness."

As the evening continued, Eau Claire's own Once More, Autumn brought frontman Evan Walton – along with Jeremy Boettcher, Isaac John and Steve Shaw – to the intimate stage, nestled between stacks of jazz and R&B records within the storefront.

Akin to the records on display, Once More, Autumn continues to offer local listeners dynamic and earnest musical expression; melodic riffs and emotive lyrics permeate through the ensemble's latest record, Foals and other songs within its discography.

The evening brought opportunities for connection between instrumentalists and audiences, hand made merchandise – souvenirs from the night – and an honest representation of what these two Midwestern bands hope to convey through their respective sounds.
