Chippewa Vallians were eager to witness the alternative soundtracks of Poliça, the Minneapolis-based indie pop ensemble, in its live splendor – as evident through the group's latest sold-out show on April 5 at The Plus in downtown Eau Claire.

Eau Claire's own ambient and chillwave creative, The Nunnery, began the evening with tracks featured on their lates record, Ascending. Sarah Elstran, the "looper" and vocalist behind the project, was joined by Shane Leonard (percussion) and Erik Elstran (video visuals).

As the evening progressed, Poliça took the stage and performed tracks from their latest studio record, Dreams Go

The storytelling and lyricism featured in Dreams Go has been described by lead vocalist, Channy Leaneagh, as “the dreams we swallow, bury away while life goes on without them.”

Leaneagh and company made sure to highlight notable tracks from Poliça's decades-long discography, along with glimmers of new music from a new album already in development.

During this portion of the bill, Elstran continued to display experimental visual effects – offering locals a multimodal experience where live listening and visual storytelling were harmoniously brought together.
