This month, Eau Claire musician and creative Benjamin Hinz has been the active “artist-in-residence” at The Venue (209 Graham Ave., Eau Claire). Each Saturday night in October, Hinz has welcomed friends and fellow musicians to take the stage, with each performance bringing something new and unexpected for viewers.
In addition to rotating music "sets" each night, the residency also featured audio and visual collaborations including short films, animation and comics and zines. Hinz's final performance on Oct. 25 featured a night of music with Peter Diedrick, Mitch Smuhl and ASTRONOTEVER (featuring Hinz and Josh Ingersoll) — joined by Sarah Bodeau.
As the clock struck midnight attendees enjoyed a screening of George Romero’s Night Of The Living Dead — a perfect complement to the indie-gothic and underground scene at the core of Hinz's residency.
