You know summertime has officially arrived in the Chippewa Valley once Saturday mornings turn into weekly farmers market trips and the area's public parks are filled with hammockers, folks on a walk with their pups, and live music. In downtown Eau Claire's Phoenix Park, weekly free-to-attend concerts are held thanks to the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series.
Last Thursday, June 5, kicked off the 2025 Sounds Like Summer series with three feel-good musical performances: opener Jim "Doc" Miller set up with his acoustic guitar to open the evening around 6pm, followed by masterful guitar and song by Patchouli & Terra Guitarra. Amanda Grace ended the evening with a full band, filling the park with Americana and folk-pop sounds, rounding out the fair-weather evening.
Each week for the rest of the summer, Sounds Like Summer will host live music from about 6-8:30pm, as well as food trucks and local nonprofit and business vendors, at Phoenix Park. Grab a lawn chair or blanket and find your favorited shaded or sun-drenched spot around the park's labyrinth: your Thursday evenings are booked!
