The Venue (209 S. Graham Ave., Eau Claire) – the back room of The Plus – lit up for a 10pm show on Friday, April 25, featuring Minneapolis-based bands Creeping Charlie and Asparagus. The former was named one of First Avenue's Best New Bands of 2022 and "makes music for cool older sisters," the band's sound ranging from indie and punk rock to soft ballads, inspired by – but looking to mimic – '90s indie rock. Asparagus, a four-piece shoegaze outfit, originally formed in Eau Claire in the late 2010s. After a couple years' hiatus, the band made its return with its debut album, 2004 Eric, a 10-song project released just this year.
