The award-winning Thorp cheesemaker, Marieke Gouda, just opened the doors on its first Eau Claire retail store, House of Gouda. Tuesday, Feb. 28, marked the final day of the month and the first day of biz for the new one-stop-charcuterie-shop, at 4008 Commonwealth Ave., previously Pier 1 Imports.

The new store offers a plethora of Marieke’s renowned cheese varieties and more, combining the aura of a traditional Dutch cheese shop with all the fixings to craft a charcuterie board. The shop can cut into its large wheels of cheese on location and offers samples, as well as customized or create-your-own boards.
