Talk about gettin’ jiggy with it! This past Saturday, Feb. 11, UW-Eau Claire and the Lake Wissota Lions Club threw their annual Jig’s Up ice fishing contest, offering more than $80,000 in cash and prizes. With a weekend of sunshine, folks gathered on Lake Wissota from 7am to 2pm to throw their lines in for a chance to win big.

To win prizes, which included a two-year lease on a new Ford F-150, folks simply had to register for a fish ticket from any plethora of places around the Chippewa Valley to have a shot. Prizes were awarded by weight to the top 20 fish and every 10th place thereafter to 480th place, then 481st through 500th. Raffle prizes were up for grabs too, and $100 gift cards awarded to the largest fish in categories of northern, walleye, and pan fish.
