Time to tap into the good stuff! Maple Syrup Saturday took place on March 12 at the Wise Nature Center at Beaver Creek Reserve. Families came together to learn the tradition of maple sugaring including how to decide which trees to tap, how to tap those trees, and how sap is collected and boiled down to make everyone's favorite –maple syrup. Following a short inside program, families toured the sugar bush and assisted with tapping a tree, and then visited the sugar shack where the sap is boiled down into syrup. Families had the opportunity to "adopt-a-tree" where they will create their own tree tag to place on each sap station to leave their own personal touch to Beaver Creek’s sugar bush.
