The public got its first inside look on Tuesday, June 14, at the new Irvine Park Welcome Center in Chippewa Falls. Hundreds of onlookers attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the facility, which will serve multiple purposes: Its 13,500 square feet will welcome visitors to the park and zoo, house the zoo’s small mammals and birds, and store historic artifacts. The $3.95 million building was almost entirely funded through donations.
