The Shouting Matches staged a surprise show at The Mousetrap in downtown Eau Claire, Wis. on Wednesday night, July 31. The band – Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Megafaun's Phil Cook and Laarks/Peter Wolf Crier’s Brian Moen – released their first official album (GROWNASS MAN, available at The Local Store & Revival Records) back in April and played the Coachella Music Festival during that same time. The unadvertised gig at The Mousetrap was a warm up before the band plays Milwaukee and Minneapolis later in the week – where (fun fact!) they've promised to sell CD copies of their long lost EP, Mouthoil. And if you're mad you missed out and blame us for not telling you... sorry. Our hands were tied!
