Chippewa Valley Museum to be granted $150,000

It all began back in 2012, when the Chippewa Valley Museum partnered with local government efforts and created The Good Life: A Cultural Direction for Eau Claire County when the city sought out to define Eau Claire’s cultural identity. Since last year, the museum has worked to enhance the community’s perspective on culture and to gather a sense of local history.
A lot of that history involves Eau Claire’s abundance of rivers. Since Eau Claire County can be recognized for its vast river system, The Chippewa Valley Museum has worked to represent its watery heritage.
Well recently, the Chippewa Valley Museum has been granted $150,000 through the Museums for America program with hopes to enhance Eau Claire residents’ engagement with the city’s cultural life. It’s important to note that the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) provided grants to only 244 museums across the country – and we were one of them!
By providing visitors with resources and access to the community’s culture, The Chippewa Valley Museum can continually supply residents with further opportunities to become culturally involved and to fully engage in our public history
