Empty downtown windows gussied up

Downtown Eau Claire Incorporated has been working hard on filling in some of the empty windows that adorn downtown Eau Claire. Working with a group of UWEC students and artists, DECI has coordinated art to be displayed in the storefronts. The first pieces began to appear on Oct. 31 at the former Wildwood Gifts and more recently four local artists are on display at 120 Graham Ave., formerly Angelus Salon. On Dec. 8, an opening reception was held for a variety of UW-Eau Claire photographers whose work is now on display at 138 Graham Ave., formerly Brickhouse Music. DECI has been working to connect local artists with the building owners and have received strong responses from both sides. Not only does this give artists a place to display their work, but it also brings a bit more life to Eau Claire’s downtown streets.
