This summer there will be a new “Artist Market” coinciding with the Saturday morning Eau Claire Farmers Market in Phoenix Park. Organized by downtown shop Tangled Up In Hue, the Artist Market will be a place for local artists (within 40 miles of Eau Claire) to display and sell their original artwork. Vendors’ art will be juried, and some of the proceeds from booth registration will go towards a new art scholarship at UW-Eau Claire.

The first Artist Markets will run from 7:30am to 1:00pm, and the first event will be in just a few weeks, on May 19. Due to scheduling conflicts, the next market won’t be until June 16, but after that, there will be an Artist Market every first and third Saturday of the Farmers Market season.

Tangled Up In Hue is currently looking for local artists to apply for booths. Registration costs $20, which gets you a 10x10 space. Any local artists are encouraged to apply for a spot by contacting artistmarket@tangledupinhue.com, ASAP.

This year is a sort of trial year for the Artist Market, so the organizers encourage you to show your support for the event by perusing the artists’ works, or by applying as an artist yourself.
