Oh my.

Yes, please.

Craft brewing is sweeping the nation, and while it may not be as exciting as Lady Gaga or preseason football, it is receiving some serious attention.  According to NuWire Investor there were 1,759 new brewery startups in America last year alone.  NuWire has also decided to pit state against state by creating  list of the top ten brewing states based on production, consumption, breweries and breweries per capita.

With breweries like New Glarus, Leinenkugels, Sprecher, Rush River,, Central Waters, Viking and many more (not to mention our own Lucette and Lazy Monk), Wisconsin should be right at number one right? Wisconsin residents rank fifth in most beer consumed per person in the U.S., and the state was considered a brewing haven by the beer barons coming to American in the 1800s.  That number one spot belongs to us, but due to some unfortunate recently passed legislation, Wisconsin sits at number seven on the list.

But this rating mutsn’t darken our days. With the history and passion for beer that exists in Wisconsin, we can bounce right back and reclaim our number one spot amongst the nation's best beer producing states.  Get out there and buy some craft beer! Show some support for our local breweries and buy Wisconsin!
