OK Go is coming in November!
I probably don't need to tell you who OK Go are.
I probably don't need to tell you how awesome their 2005 album Oh No is, or that their viral music video for Here it Goes Again broke 48 million views on YouTube, winning the site's first Most Creative Video award in 2006. You probably don't even need to know This American Life host Ira Glass knows them as "living catnip" either.
But you do need to know OK Go are coming to the Chippewa Valley, scheduled to appear at UW-Eau Claire's Zorn Arena Thursday November 12, and tickets go on sale in less than a week. Tickets are first available to UWEC students at 7am Oct. 1, then to the public 7am Oct. 5.
The university really pulled through with this one. Big shows like this haven't occurred all that often, but OK Go sits well against the other big pop and rock shows at UW-Eau Claire in the last ten years (that includes Rilo Kiley, Tori Amos, Third Eye Blind, Fugazi, Smash Mouth and the Big Wu, just to name a few). I know I'll be there.
I wonder who's going to open for them. A local band, maybe? If you could recommend a band to OK Go, who would you pick?
