Yesterday, City Pages featured a touching article on Twin Cities music scene imports Rob & Leah Rule, a local husband 'n wife duo who for ten years helped bring St. Paul's Turf Club to the forefront of the metro area's music venues. Transplanted to a farm outside of Boyceville, the couple ran the Bar Chord tavern and music venue for a few years, and now they simply rock out when the need arises.

Last March, doctors diagnosed Leah with cancer, and recently wrapped up a final round of treatments which have left the Rules with medical expenses and income losses. Friends in Twin Cities bands contributed tracks for a charity album called Rock for the Rules,  streaming all 13 tracks online. Charitable donations of no less than $1 will let you download the whole thing.

The album also features a track by Rob & Leah's band, the unrepentant Zappa-worshipping Mammy Nuns.
