The Silver Mine Invitational (2770 Silvermine Drive, Eau Claire) ski jumping competition attracts athletes from around the globe each January. And if being a spectator for the adrenaline-filled, 134-year-old event isn’t enough, kids can get a small taste of ski jumping with the “Roller Jump.” With options in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond and River Falls, the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids’ Sake offers plenty of opportunities to get your bowling on and help out a good cause. After raising some money, participants dress up (the theme for 2020 is “Wild, Wild West”), bowl, win prizes, and help kids. Each summer, the Eau Claire Soccer Park is home to the U.S. National Kubb Championship, billed as “the largest kubb tournament outside of Europe.” Never played? That’s totally fine. The multi-day tournament is open to players of all ages and skill levels. – Danielle Zinsli
