“Nature's Gifts“ by Cari Raynae Jacobson

Cari Raynae Jacobson is a local artist who works in acrylic and watercolor paints, stacks of papers, and baskets of fibers. 

“Nature's Gifts” • eco-dye table runner • 2024 • About the artwork, from the artist: “Black walnut leaves, Cotinus leaves, Cosmos and Coreopsis blooms are all captured on this example of eco-dyeing. The color of vegetation that appears on a finished piece is not always the same color as it was plucked from the garden. This is a process that has a “Christmas package surprise” element. Although I paint, create greeting cards, and multi-media collages, lately I’ve been working on an upcoming exhibit.

“Celebrating Fiber Arts” will be held at the Heyde Center (3 South High St., Chippewa Falls) October 21 to November 18, 2026. At the reception on October 25, along with other fiber-related demonstrations, I will be embroidering on photographs. You may even see me on the stage, modeling some wearable-art during the “Strut Your Stuff” fashion show.”
