Perhaps you remember the traditional coupon books or fundraising cards, like Dan Pekol, an avid entrepreneur and lifelong resident of Eau Claire. Or, maybe you have been the beneficiary of the sweet deals these books offer at local coffee shops, sporting events and other retailers.

Enter Valley Deals – a new and improved resource with a mission rooted in community service; a living membership model with accessible discounts and offers, which partners with area businesses for good.

“I’ve always been drawn to connecting with people – through local business and by supporting causes that matter in our community,” Pekol, the founder of Valley Deals, said.

Valley Deals offers community members a physical card which includes a QR code to view recurring and new offers added through the business web browser.

As of May 1, the resource will spotlight a collection of offers from area businesses and with benefits toward partnered area nonprofits.

At its core, Pekol said, the business will benefit everyone: members will save money, businesses gain new and returning customers and community groups receive direct funds to uplift their mission.

“One thing that really motivates me about this membership, really a club, is that it needs to be fun and an experience for our members,” Pekol said. “That’s why we are excited to be working on several member exclusive events that go beyond the value of the stated deals.

“Being local and having boots on the ground allows us to support both mom-and-pop businesses and franchise partners in a more personal, hands-on way,” he continued.

To bring locals the best deals year-round, you won’t see five or ten percent offers through Valley Deals; Pekol celebrates the minimum 20% discounts from area businesses, all the way to buy-one, get-one offers.

What really surprises people is that these are recurring deals – not just a one-time offer at participating establishments, he added.

“having boots on the ground allows us to support both mom-and-pop businesses and franchise partners in a more personal, hands-on way.”

In his career, Pekol has acted as a catalyst in a range of local businesses; he may be best known for starting and operating Chippewa Valley Airport Service for a decade or bringing the first franchise of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit to the heart of Eau Claire.

Throughout these ebbs and flows in his professional endeavors, his passions remain centered on sustaining relationships, forming strong partnerships and promising real value to customers.

“A hallmark of the Valley Deals program is recognizing the many opportunities to support our community,” Pekol said. “From youth initiatives to senior programs, (we are) making that support accessible to organizations across the Chippewa Valley.”

With today’s launch, Valley Deals welcomes a lineup of over 20 local merchant partners and is poised to grow year-round. A dream for sports lovers in the region, the business has partnered with Hickory Hills Golf Course, Pine Meadow Golf Course, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Athletics, Eau Claire Express Baseball – each with their own buy-one, get-one offers.

In addition to these collaborations, United Way Greater Chippewa Valley and its diaper bank – a cause close to Pekol’s values – will become the exclusive Valley Deals launch partner and the sole beneficiary of initial online sales from now through the end of April.

“Not only are we doing something different, but we are super local and I feel that gives us credibility with our business partners,” Pekol said.

Valley Deals memberships are available now for $30 and remain valid through August 31, 2027. Each Member Saving Club card will be mailed upon online purchase.

Memberships purchased through partnered fundraising efforts will generate $7.50 that goes directly back to the community, as members continue to save throughout the year.

Coming soon, a Valley Deals app – in partnership with Daredevil Consulting of Chippewa Falls – will be where locals can access their membership and Valley Deals offers in an instant.

So, what are you waiting for? Whether you are itching to try that new local joint or treat yourself to a much-needed day out, Valley Deals provides direct connection with the community and keeps more money in your pocket.
