CAP
FOR ALL YOU TRAIN LOVERS. The annual Seasonal Train Exhibit is back at the Eau Claire public library for most of December, just in time to get your Polar Express on.

ALL ABOARD! The Seasonal Train Exhibit in Eau Claire, hosted at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, will bring magical miniature life-sized towns and model trains to the third-floor Riverview Room from Dec. 6-27.

Volunteer train buffs and railroad experts from the Standard Gauge Module Association will be dressed as conductors to greet viewers of the Seasonal Train Exhibit.

Different vintage electric toy trains – original and reproductions – from 1906 to the 1940s will be whirring by; clickety-clack on the tracks, the clang, clang of the bells, and the choo-choo, toot-toot of the engines will chug along a 16-foot-by-28-foot standard gauge layout.

Extra family fun will be had thanks to a scavenger hunt, with admission for children under the age of 18 just $2/person. For adults ages 18-plus, admission is $5/person.

Light-up night trains will run from 4:30-7:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings while daytime trains will run from 1-5pm on Saturday afternoons. The Polar Express Experience, part of the seasonal exhibit, will be offered by reservation only and costs $5/person (and includes admission to the exhibit).

The Polar Express Experience features a reading of the classic holiday picture book The Polar Express, a visit from a conductor, and a free gift will be provided during Saturday afternoons at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm.

The exhibit will be closed on Dec. 25, Christmas Day. Proceeds from the seasonal exhibit benefits the Friends of the Library.
