The Children’s Museum of Eau Claire (CMEC) will be offering free admission during November for families using SNAP or WIC benefits.
“Normally, income-qualified families pay $4 per visit through CMEC’s Play for All program, but this month that fee is waived, allowing qualifying families to enjoy the museum at no cost,” a recent media release stated.
CMEC’s Play for All program typically offers annual memberships to income-qualified families for just $30 (compared to other membership levels like the Family Membership which costs $179/year). The program is possible thanks to community partners and donors, as is the November-long admission waiver.
“As a nonprofit, we want to ensure that our mission of learning through play remains truly accessible to all children – especially when it is needed most – and this is done through community support,” Mike Lee, CMEC's CEO, said.
“Every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and explore.”
Families may present their SNAP or WIC benefits at the museum’s entrance to take part in the month-long offering.
