STAFF NOTE: Getting Married? Congrats! We’ve Got a List or Two to Help
thoughts and advice from our newlywed listings editor on getting hitched in the Valley

I’ve been to some pretty amazing weddings in the Chippewa Valley. And after nearly 10 years of organizing and producing our annual Weddings & Occasions guide, I finally had one of my own. I learned a lot from my experience this last autumn, and I’ve re-invested that newfound knowledge back into our guide to all things nuptial in the Chippewa Valley.
Inside the pull-out guide you’ll find a plethora of local tips, checklists, and more to help your even go smoothly and get the day of your dreams. Everything from photographers, florists, venues, officiants, DJs, performers, and more, we’ve done our very best to help make the arduous – but joyous – task just a little less daunting. You’ll even find a more comprehensive breakdown of what I learned from my experience building the wedding of our dreams.
But take it from me, you don’t have to be planning a wedding to enjoy the aesthetics. Even though I’m done with mine, I still feel the urge to page through photos and absorb the vibes. Every year more and more is changing in the wedding industry. Non-traditional dresses are becoming more common with every passing year. Hometown weddings are rising in popularity, and I suspect Eau Claire will see more and more weddings from Eau Claire ex-pats who return to host events. Outdoor ceremonies continue to stay popular, which is great for our area with all of its lush, beautiful vistas.
So if you’re getting married soon (congratulations!) grab a pen and start taking notes. Or just live vicariously through the charming array of visuals, themes, and styles within. And if you, like me, have just finished yours, sit back and smile as these poor saps have no idea what they’re getting into.
