Chorale NouvEAU will take to the stage for the first time in their 2024-25 concert season, with “A Cry For Peace.” The event is on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 3pm at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Eau Claire. (You will notice that the choir is now sans the “à” which used to be in the middle of its name.)

According to Artistic Director and Founder Kate Larson, pain and suffering derived from conflict and violence drives the musical theme. “Through a diverse selection of music, we’ll explore themes of unity, hope, and resilience, reminding us of our shared humanity,” she said. “Every song we’re singing has a story behind it – music is truly an expression of the human experience, and these songs are powerful examples.”

As in previous years, a charitable organization will benefit from Chorale NouvEAU concert proceeds. For “A Cry For Peace,” the featured group is Sleep In Heavenly Peace, which builds and delivers beds for children in need in the area.

Attendees can purchase tickets online (choralenouveau.org/events-2-1) or at the door. Some of the choir’s prior concerts have filled the Christ Church Cathedral sanctuary. As Larson notes, “We recommend purchasing in advance to guarantee a seat!”
