Clear your calendar for next Saturday, Oct. 12 – Pinehurst Bike Jam is back! Whether you’re lookin’ to get in on the variety of bike races or just want to join the fun as a spectator, the annual benefit event is slated to celebrate camaraderie and the outdoor recreation group OutdoorMore Inc.

Hosted by OutdoorMore in partnership with Stache Bike & Adventure, the event will run 11am-2pm at Pinehurst Park. With more than $1,500 in raffle prizes – donated by Scheels, Eric’s Bike Shop, Spring Street Sports, and others – plus a giveaway, lunch, and awards for race winners, the annual event has plenty for kids and adults alike to enjoy.

Rider check-in is at 8am with the first events of the morning (online registration will be available later this week), four-stage and two-stage enduro races, beginning at 9am. The afternoon features the Onewheel Enduro race; Pump Track Knockout; Dirt Jump Whip-off, and more.

“We host (Pinehurst Bike Jam) to end the year on a high note,” OutdoorMore board of directors member Benjamin Bonitz said. “We want to recognize all the donated hours put into our park each year and make sure we can give back to the community by hosting fun events and getting like-minded individuals together.”

There is a $10 entry fee/person to the event, with kids riding free and receiving a helmet and riding pads to do so. Organizers hope to draw in more potential members and volunteers at Pinehurst Bike Jam, and use the event’s race fees and donations to further fund OutdoorMore’s operation costs.

OutdoorMore hosts year-round outdoor recreation events and space for all-ages activities at Pinehurst Park. The group largely focuses on the mountain biking experience, and continues to bolster its winter rec offerings (ice skating, sledding, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and more).

Pinehurst Bike Jam organizers are still in search of a food truck for the Oct. 12 event. Reach out at thepinehurstproject@gmail.com for more information about the event or OutdoorMore.
