Weeya Michelle Calif, an artist proficient in both traditional and digital mediums, has recently shifted her focus to digital art.

Armed with a BA in Art Education and a Masters in Technology Integration, she currently instructs over 660 students in traditional and digital art, spearheading a transformative approach in the classroom.

Pioneering a mobile digital art initiative in the Green Bay area, she collaborates with various organizations and provides the necessary equipment for students to explore digital art outside the conventional classroom setting.

Honored with the prestigious Golden Apple Award in 2022, Weeya is committed to art education and its integration with technology.

As the young girl matures into womanhood, a collective of influential women—mothers, grandmothers, aunties—surround her, imparting invaluable teachings. These lessons encompass the essence of womanhood, encompassing motherhood, societal contributions, community living, and the rich tapestry of ancestral wisdom.

Guided by these teachings, the girl blossoms under the nurturing care of the women in her life, poised to become a remarkable force and a vital contributor to her community. She connects to the Earth Mother and the nurturing embrace of the Grandmother Moon, while our ancestors observe from the celestial realm.”
