Brightside Cycle (514 Oak Ave., Menomonie) opened its doors in January of 2022 aiming to offer Menomonie and the greater Chippewa Valley a new kind of fitness experience: one entirely centered around stationary cycling.

The spin class center three types of classes – Cycle30, Independent Scenic Ride, and Themed Rides – offering a unique-to-you kind of experience thanks to the way each person’s bikes are set up, prior to the start of each class. Unique settings are fitted to each individual based on their measurements in regard to the pedals and handlebars, those settings logged into Brightside Cycle’s system so you never have to get refitted in the future.

Owned by Cassandra Loehle-Conger, also an instructor at Brightside Cycle, only dreamt of opening her own spin-class fitness space for years, specifically the three years leading up to Brightside Cycle’s opening. Cassandra found the variety of classes and experiences individuals can have all through stationary cycling to be empowering and fun, every time.

“I will take (class attendees) on a journey through sprints, mid-range, and lows every class,” Cassandra explains on Brightside Cycle’s website. “… Being out of the saddle at least 50% of the time is a regular occurrence for my class! But remember, it is your workout; if your body tells you to sit, I want you to sit. You can still push yourself with your resistance, but listen to your body.”

Cassandra’s true passion for cycling as fitness is evident in the way Brightside Cycle runs, and its success over the last year backs it. While people are encouraged to utilize a membership if they find themselves wanting to come back regularly, Brightside Cycle also offers newcomers their first class free. During that first class, measurements are aligned with a bike and the class is broken down by its instructor.

With a variety of membership options, each a three-month commitment, pricing ranges from $60 and up. Class packages are offered too for those just wanting to try out cycling for a limited time or spaced out across several weeks, packages from single class passes up to a 20-class package.

With a team of eight, seven of those being instructors, classes are offered Monday-Saturday starting most days at 5:30am and offered through the afternoon.

Cycle30 classes are described as the classic spin class, led by an instructor for a 30-minute ride. Independent Scenic Ride classes allow individuals to get set up by an instructor, but then take off on their own ride and outside of a group class dynamic. Themed Rides are pop-up classes offered based on instructor and class attendee suggestions, themes like Hannah Montana, 90’s Hairband, and more.

Step up to the bike and see if Brightside Cycle is the place you’ve been waiting for!
