Warm weather can be pretty deceiving, especially when you live in a state like Wisconsin. What’s that saying again? If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes. No matter the weather, get bundled up for the third annual Frosty Toona Fat Tire Race, which is slated for March 26 at 1560 Front Porch Place in Altoona. Registration begins at 10am, with the race pedaling off at 11am, with plans for a post-event drawing and awards ceremony. Entry is free, with registration exclusively on the day of the event.

Got your gears ready? Be sure your fat bike is equipped with tires at a minimum of 3.7 inches of width, and riders are required to wear helmets for the full three-mile trek. Registration begins at the top of the hill behind the Prairie Place Apartments, with the race beginning at the top of the hill and ending at the River Prairie Lower Pavilion. Prizes for the men and women’s division include $100 and an award for the first-place winner, $50 for the second-place winner, and $25 for the third-place winner.

The Frosty Toona Bike Race is presented by the City of Altoona, CORBA, Visit Eau Claire, Stache Bike and Adventure, SHIFT Cyclery & Coffee Bar, Scheels, ERIK’s Bike and Board, Fast Fuel, and Spring Street Sports.
