Enjoy a virtual gathering of teens with Mythology Madness on March 16, 6-7:30 pm, hosted by Stacey Brown, Adult and Teen Services Associate at the Augusta Memorial Public Library in Augusta, Wisconsin. Available for ages 12-18, this event includes trivia, puzzle-solving, a Celtic-themed virtual escape room, and learning knot tying.

Mythology Madness allows teens to socialize with each other while participating in activities through an online setting.

“I’m most excited about just the opportunity to share new information,” Brown said, “things that I think would have appeal to teens.”

It's also bringing people back to the libraries, after attendance decreased from the COVID-19 pandemic, Brown said.

These themed online events for teens began back in September 2020, created in collaboration by Brown, Caroline Herfindahl from Ellsworth Library, Valerie Spooner from Rusk County Community Library in Ladysmith, Cindy Koller from Park Falls Library. Different themes have included a Halloween event, Christmas crafts and snacks, Adulting 101, and Valentine’s event.

They have since extended the events across many libraries throughout the state of Wisconsin. Mythology Madness is free for all joining.

Registration is available on the Chippewa Falls Library website, chippewafallslibrary.org. The first ten teens to sign up before March 12 are guaranteed a Grab Bag, which includes materials for knot tying and Celtic bookmarks, escape room cheats, and snacks. The Grab Bag can be picked up from whichever local library you register at.
