A PIZZA OUR HEARTS. Mancino's Pizza & Grinders has made a big announcement: They are moving from  809 W. Clairemont Ave. (above) to 2295 Brackett Ave., right next to the Regency Inn & Suites and Kwik Trip. The new location will open Dec. 1.

While the Clairemont Avenue location of Mancino’s pizza & Grinders will always have a “pizza” our hearts (pun intended), plans to transform the former Campus View Motel into affordable student housing means Mancino’s has got to go – to a different location, at least. And with their change in location brings a slice of new opportunities to local pizza lovers.

We've had a lot of ups and downs. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the business while raising three boys.

Every day we changed our minds for a good month and a half. We'd talk about it and say: Do we really want to start over?

Their 2295 Brackett Ave. location will include bathrooms on site, TVs to catch the latest game (Go Pack, Go!), plus a beer and wine license  – allowing them to serve up the latest and greatest brews. That’s not to mention their  most exciting new venture: the potential for an outdoor patio in summertime.

COMING SOON. Mancino's will reopen in a new space on Brackett Avenue on Dec. 1.

Their new location, which opens Dec. 1, is located near Memorial and Regis high schools, meaning students and families can hit up the restaurant for pizza, grinders, or enjoy a new addition to their menu: pretzel bites. And, the Biwer family hopes the new location will retain many of its loyal employees.

“We went through the whole gamut of emotions, like, is this a sign that we should just be done?” said owner Samantha Biwer. “I mean, 25 years, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the business while raising three boys. Every day we changed our minds for about a good month and a half. We’d talk about it and say: Do we really want to start over?”

DOUGH-RE-MI! The kitchen at Mancino's new spot will serve up the same grinders and pizza customers are accustomed to.

It’s like starting over, she said, but with one notable exception: they will still serve up their deliciously fresh, homemade dough.
