After a challenging past year, local kids may be struggling for a way to express themselves and their emotions. One way to cope is through art, which is the mission and goal of the Youth Art Project and art workshops, courtesy of Bared Feet, Co., an Eau Claire-based nonprofit organization dedicated to wellness, art, education, and work with children.

Every Tuesday from 4:30-6:30pm in June through October, Bared Feet, Co. will host free artist workshops, pairing local kiddos with local professional artists to learn various artistic mediums.  This nonprofit organization also has a permanent online gallery (which you can view here) featuring the artwork of local young people.

If your child (aged 0-18) enjoys creating art, submit a photo or scanned version of their artwork to youthartbaredfeet@gmail.com with the subject line “Youth Art Entry” with their name and age. The only requirement is that the artwork must be wholly completed by the child.  If you’re looking for inspiration, Bared Feet, Co. offers seasonal competitions to get the community talking about issues with a youth perspective. Current call for art is on the theme “Family.”
