Beauty Bar Blooms on Barstow
Eau Claire native opens new salon downtown
A young business owner is back in the Chippewa Valley with a mission of beautification.
Caroline Leonardson – an Eau Claire native who spent the last five years living and working in the Twin Cities – is back in the city after the pandemic inspired a career change for her. After attending the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute in Minneapolis and working for nearly a decade providing wedding makeup for brides throughout the Chippewa Valley, Caroline took the next step, opening up her own beauty business in November.
The Barstow Beauty Bar – in downtown Eau Claire inside The Beauty Room, 306 S. Barstow St., Suite 101 – is Leonardson’s new adventure. As the sole employee of her new skin-care studio, she offers facials, body treatments, full-body waxing, eyelash services, and wedding makeup services.
I just want to make sure that anyone who hears my name knows they’re always going to get an amazing experience from beginning to end. Whether it be a consult for their wedding makeup or anything else, I want to greet people personally and make their day brighter.

Leonardson said her goal with The Barstow Beauty Bar is to brighten the day of every client who walks through her door. “I just want to make sure that anyone who hears my name knows they’re always going to get an amazing experience from beginning to end,” Leonardson said. “Whether it be a consult for their wedding makeup or anything else, I want to greet people personally and make their day brighter.”
Every day, Leonardson’s new business is chock full of clients eager to support her new venture. It motivates her to grow and excel in the beauty industry for years to come.“Everybody seems really happy that I came back home after learning so much about the industry the past few years,” Leonardson said. “People are enjoying that I have a relaxing space and such a beautiful studio. Even though there is a pandemic going on, people are coming and supporting me. I’m so blessed.”
