Lighting. Props. Dialogue. These are just a few components that make a great film, according to Bre Ferraro – a manager and graphic designer for the Eau Claire International Film Festival, which is on the lookout for your great submissions to their next film festival.

“Cinema is all about storytelling. When a film has the ability to expand a viewer’s thoughts and feelings so that it leaves them wanting more, leaves them thinking deeply, and encourages them to have meaningful and engaging conversations – that is what really makes a film great.” –Bre Ferraro, Eau Claire International Film Festival

“We accept a wide variety of films from all around the world that are beautiful, thought-provoking, comedic, and informative, which overall creates an experience that is exciting, unique, and special to Western Wisconsin,” Ferraro said. “It’s important to highlight local filmmakers and video production students, so if you enjoy supporting local artists and filmmakers, this is a great place to show your support for them.”

Films submitted must be exhibited as a Digital Cinema Package (DCP), Blu-Ray, or FTP download. Films are awarded in seven categories: Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Short Narrative Film, Best Short Documentary Film, Best Student Film, Best Animated Film, and Best Children’s Film. Submit your work by June 20 for the early bird deadline ($40), Aug. 15 for the regular deadline ($40), and Sept. 5 for the late deadline ($50). The films will premiere from Oct. 16-18 at the Pablo Center.
