The 132nd Annual Silver Mine Invitational, one of the longest-running Eau Claire winter events, is just around the corner. Attendees can expect two days of spectacular international ski jumping competitions on Jan. 19-20. Skiers from Slovenia, Finland, Canada, and the United States will be gracing the hill with their talents. The Eau Claire Cooperative/Touchstone US Cup event will be held on Friday. This is a tour-style event with eight stops. Saturday is the Charter Bank Five Hills Tour event followed by a distance-only competition known as the Xcel Energy Long Standing Competition. This has been a favorite every year, so you won’t want to miss it!

Be sure to bundle up for the cold weather, however in case you get a bit chilly there will be a heated tent and bonfires to warm up at. Concession stands, a beer area and souvenir clothing/vendors can also be found at the event. For those that want to have some extra fun after the competitions, DJ Mark McFarlane will be at the beer tent with some sweet beats and lights at the end of the night.  Admission buttons for the Silver Mine Invitational can be found at Menards, Kwik Trip, Hilltop Tavern, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative, Ray’s Place, Prestige Auto, Spring Street Sports, Visit Eau Claire, and Dooley’s Pub. Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the gate, and free for 12 years and younger. Gates open at 5pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.
