Eaux Claires Line-Up Revealed This Week

Nick Meyer |

It might be the middle of winter, but many of us have warmer weather on their minds as a few more of our major summer music festivals have announced their line-ups over the last several weeks. Last fall Country Fest tossed out names like Blake Shelton and Eric Church while Country Jam listed Dierks Bently and Miranda Lambert. Not long after that Rock Fest announced Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, and Slayer at the top of their bill. Just a few weeks ago the third installment of the Blue Ox Festival announced a diversified line-up with Punch Brothers, Drive-By Truckers, Greensky Bluegrass, and more. And finally, this week the Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival is announcing the line-up for its third year. While we’re excited to tell you about it here in the mag, unfortunately we can’t just yet because our print issue hits the streets a day before the lineup is technically announced. That means you’ll have to follow VolumeOne.org this week for the details, but let’s just say there are some exciting names in the mix. The festival’s move to June this year further front-loads the summer with music: Three of the five major festivals are in June while two are in July. Who knows, maybe that creates an August opening for another fest focused on an entirely different genre? A northern zydeco/klezmer fusion festival, anyone?
