Hounds Before Lions has been creeping up in the Eau Claire music scene, bringing its contemplative indie rock to venues around town. The group finished its first recordings late in 2013, but now they have a physical release. Their self-titled debut is out now on cassette. The six-track collection offers a hint of the bedroom recordings Hounds Before Lions came out of, but with a full-bodiedness only provided in a studio. The trio of UW-Eau Claire students recorded with local guru Evan Middlesworth. The tape is available at The Local Store, 205 N.
