Banbury Place stands seemingly quiet after the closure of the Uniroyal Goodrich tire plant. But open the door and walk the hallways and you’ll find art studios, businesses and a growing cultural space that showcases the talent and creativity of Eau Claire. There’s no better weekend to see this than the massively popular Banbury Art Crawl, coming Feb. 7-8 to the old factory. The space transforms as residents open their studios and other artists fill the hallways with everything from paintings to jewelery to crafts. While you’re perusing (and buying up) the art, you’ll find live music and food throughout the space to keep your energy up. The Banbury Art Crawl has grown each year and is a premiere showcase of local artists, but this year they’re growing geographically as well. Building 10 of Banbury will join Building 13 in offering the plethora of creativity throughout the Crawl. So get in the art-buying (or at least looking) mood and get yourself out of the drab February mood with a little culture and style.
