Former Local Makes NY Times Best Seller List
Just last year, New Auburn author Mike Perry’s newest book Visiting Tom hit the New York Times’ best seller list, and now he has some local company.
UW-Stout grad Eliza Wheeler’s children’s book Miss Maple’s Seeds landed in the 10th spot on the April 28 list for Children’s Best Sellers in the New York Times Book Review. Wheeler now lives in Los Angeles.
The hardcover picture book, which was released just last month, was written and illustrated by Wheeler and follows the story of Miss Maple, who gathers seeds who have not been able to sprout and takes them on adventures to explore places to grow.
Wheeler’s illustration style lends itself well to the whimsical locales that Miss Maple visits, with watercolor textures and light, airy colors.
