To many, slavery may seem like a problem we solved a century ago, but believe it or not still today there are 27 million enslaved people around the world. The hard-hitting documentary Nefarious: Merchant of Souls seeks to tell the story of those still enslaved in the underground sex slave trading industry through first-hand interviews with both victims and traffickers. Traversing four continents and mounting more than 800 hours of footage, the documentarians have unearthed some stirring truths. The film will be screened twice in Eau Claire as part of the Incurable Fanatics Tour, first at UW-Eau Claire at 7 pm on May 4 – sponsored by the UWEC chapter of International Justice Mission – and then again at 11 am on May 5 at the Micon Downtown Cinemas, this time sponsored by Chetek Alliance Church.
