Conveyer’s (Ty Brooks, Bryan Maloney, Jake Haag, Nicolai Wallace, and Bobby Billen) new LP Empty Handed will be out in April or May.

With the release of their new record Empty Handed on the horizon, self-proclaimed “spirit-filled hardcore” band Conveyer has their hands full.

“Conveyer itself means ‘messenger,’ ” guitarist and vocalist, Ty Brooks says. “I wanted it to be a band that had a message that glorified God, but still had a way of appealing to people who don’t care about that.”

Since 2010, band members Ty Brooks, Bryan Maloney, and Jake Haag have been playing together and for their new album have added two new faces, Nicolai Wallace and Bobby Billen.

“We definitely feel like this is the lineup that we always wanted. … This is only the start,” Brooks said.

The band plans to release Empty Handed in April or May and have recently released one of the songs, Disconnected, online. “Basically in a nutshell this entire record is about … getting caught up in the morals of the world and getting away from our belief system. This whole record is about not losing faith but kind of defining faith and figuring out what that means in your own life,” Brooks said.

“Some of the subject matter lyrically deals with how difficult it can be to be a dude of faith in the world nowadays. There’s a lot of stuff that can take you away from the bigger picture,” drummer Bryan Maloney adds, “If you’re going to step out in that light, you need to hold yourself accountable and be that guy.”

While the band pulls inspiration from more spiritual sources, Brooks assures fans that they aren’t narrow minded, “we like to write from a perspective that people who believe and don’t believe can both take stuff away from it.”

Conveyer plans to play many shows and festivals this summer (including Cornerstone and Sunshine), plus regular all-ages gigs in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota. Visit their Facebook page for tracks and upcoming show information.
