educational camps for local kids

Lauryn Seering |

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is proudly offering several camps for local kids, though these are a bit more unique than most. Their June 13-17 “4-H Gateway Camp” gets seventh and eighth graders interested in science, engineering, technology, and math learning about concepts such as robotics, aeronautics, and computer design. The June 21-24 “Cabin Camp” will take kids from second to eighth grades to the Beaver Creek Reserve to explore nature, arts and crafts, science, drama, and more. Youths can choose to go canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, or climb ropes courses. The June 27-29 “Kids and Canines” will be held at the Eau Claire Exposition Center. This hands-on camp is open to kids ages 10 to 16 that want to learn about training their pups. For more information about these camps contact Katy Forsythe via katy.forsythe@ces.uwex.edu or 839-4712.
