The artwork of UW-Stout art professor Tim Tozer was recently featured at the St. Paul Winter Carnival, and will be for the next two years as well. Tozer created a triptych, a set of three related paintings, for the Securian Winter Run, an event during the 125th annual carnival. Each of the three sections were featured on shirts and mugs given to race participants, with a different section featured each year over the next three years. Tozer has run the race in the past, and used his experience as inspiration in his triptych, which depicts runners at different points in the race. The run, sponsored by St. Paul-based financial service company Securian, had approximately 2,000 runners between the 5k, 10k, and half-marathon. Tozer’s original works will also be on display in a public skyway that connects Securian’s two office buildings in downtown St. Paul. Tozer has been teaching painting at Stout since 09.
