Pioneer Grill Expands for Dining and Entertainment

Kinzy Janssen |

The Pioneer Saloon and Grill just outside of Menomonie will have plenty of room for live entertainment now that they’ve opened a new dining section with its own bar, elevated stage, projection television, and elite sound system. Called “The Club,” this 1,100-square-foot area of the establishment will bring in frequent live bands, solo instrumentalists, and comedy acts. Though owners Bob and Jackie Krueger (of rural Menomonie) have hosted some previous entertainers, space was limited to the outdoor patio and the bar floor. Happily, the expansion will allow for much more flexibility. Diners can also choose from an array of outdoor activities. The Pioneer will still offer sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, bean bag courts, and disc golf. The restaurant is known for its steaks and prime rib, which are carefully aged and seasoned, and its Friday night fish fry.
