Found Footage Festival
local duo discovers a whole new batch of hysterical clips
The Found Footage Festival will grace Eau Claire with yet another outrageous cinematic experience this month! The Cameo Budget Theater will host the unique screening of footage found everywhere in the country, from garage sales to dumpsters. The Found Footage Festival, which debuted in New York in 2004, is the project of two UWEC alums, Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher. The hosts provide background during the screening, sharing the rescue tale of each piece of footage. Some of the features this year include workplace sexual harassment videos, Playgirl’s 1985 Man of the Year in an exercise video, and an instructional video on cat toilet training. Pickett and Prueher’s collections have earned them airtime on NPR, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as sold out shows at the HBO Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Though festival has visited Eau Claire twice before, this year brings a brand new batch of clips promising to have you rolling in the aisles, hopefully avoiding stray gum and Jujubes. Join some of Eau Claire’s own for this hilarious event.
