MidWest WeirdFest is a cinematic celebration of all things fantastic, frightening, off-beat, and just plain weird! Whether your taste in film runs to horror, sci-fi, underground, or strange documentaries, your appetite for the latest in weird cinema will be satiated. The second annual film festival runs March 9-11, at The Micon Downtown Budget Cinema, 315 S. Barstow Street, Eau Claire.
The Midwest is filled with dark and mysterious byways, strange critters, and mythical beasties. And Wisconsin has more than its share: from the very real historical monsters Ed Gein and Jeffery Dahmer, through legendary creatures like the Beast of Bray Road and the Hodag, to strange and wonderful places such as the Forevertron, UFO landing ports, and the mythical town of killer midgets known as Haunchyville.... It's the perfect territory for a festival that focuses on weird and terrifying cinema from all around the world.
