Perfectly suited for the local shifts from fall to winter, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire presents the classic musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's beloved story, Little Women.
Directed by Arthur Grothe – the university’s artistic director of theatre and professor of theatre arts at-large – this fresh production captures themes of individual growth, grief, optimism and enduring love.
“Little Women: The Broadway Musical,” follows the adventures of the March sisters: Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy. Drawing from lived experiences and shared hardships alongside her sisters and friends, Jo crafts the tale of her family navigating life during the Civil War era of the United States.
At UW-Eau Claire, Emily Sternfeld-Dunn serves as music director alongside choreographer Ivy Jacobson. They are joined by an ensemble of student cast and crew who bring the production to life on the JAMF Theatre stage in the Pablo Center at the Confluence (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire).
“Little Women: The Broadway Musical” has remaining shows at 7:30pm on Oct. 21-24 and at 1:30pm on Oct. 25. Visit the Pablo Center ticketing webpage online to learn more about the production and purchase tickets ($13-24/person).
