Eau Claire-based nonprofit, Flourishing Arts, hosted its latest "healing arts" offering with the community – the 'Afterlight' event – on Saturday, May 23 at the Pablo Center at the Confluence (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire).
The one-night showcase of visual arts and music also acted as a fundraiser to support the organization's community engagement efforts this year and onward.
Founders of Flourishing Arts, Dathan Boardman and Jo Ellen Burke, were at the center of this collaborative event.
The atmosphere was alive with activity as visual artists – including Holli Jacobson and Terry Meyer – practiced their craft live, Eau Claire musicians performed heartfelt songs and area small businesses engaged with residents, organizers said.
Live audioreactivity visuals were made by Boardman, along with music by Eau Claire’s own Luray, S. Carey and Scott Burton’s Ritual Magick.
Amongst the vendors and area businesses on-site, sponsors included Token Jewelry, Mother Nature Foods, Beaver Creek Reserve, Caradori Pottery, Eau Claire Outdoors, Seven Suns Vintage, among others.
Locals who missed the in person event can still support the nonprofit's mission – bolstering greater access to healing arts in the community – through Flourishing Arts' donation page online.
